Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. The Space and Remote Sensing Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking outstanding applicants to fill postdoctoral research positions in visible and infrared remote sensing. Our team carries out multi-disciplinary programs in theory, modeling, instrumentation, experimentation, field deployment, data analysis, and data exploitation. We conduct research in passive remote sensing to support the Department of Energy’s non-proliferation mission. LANL offers a stimulating environment of diverse, world-class science, in a beautiful mountain setting, where scientists pursue research to solve problems of national significance.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Due to Federal export control regulations (e.g., ITAR) we can only consider as candidates either U.S citizens or foreign persons holding a U.S. green card.
Desired Skills:
Education: Ph.D. in physics, atmospheric science, astronomy, electrical engineering, or a closely related discipline, completed within the past five years, or soon to be completed.
Pre-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a pre-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Candidates may be considered for a Director's Fellowship and outstanding candidates may be considered for the prestigious Marie Curie, Richard P. Feynman, J. Robert Oppenheimer, or Frederick Reines Fellowships.
