Additional Job Requirements for the Scientist 4: Notes to Applicants: | | | | | | Where You Will Work Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. LANL enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns. The High Energy Particle Physics Theory effort at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking applications for two staff scientist positions. Applicants must have a strong research program in areas of interest to both the LANL HEP effort and to the national and international programs in HEP, such as collider physics, cosmology, dark matter, lattice gauge theory, model-building, neutrinos, or particle-astrophysics. Applicants whose work spans more than one of these disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. LANL has an active HEP program in both theory and experiment. LANL experimentalists in HEP are leaders in both short (MicroBoone, SBN) and long base-line neutrino experiments (DUNE), and the High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) experiment. LANL HEP theorists actively collaborate with LANL HEP experimentalists, as well as with LANL Nuclear Physics theorists and experimentalists (MAJORANA, Neutron EDM). Candidates whose research program overlaps with any of these experimental efforts are also encouraged to apply. | | | | | | Additional Details: No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance.
