Education: Ph.D. in Biochemistry/Chemistry/Molecular Biology or closely related discipline completed within the last 5 years.
Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. LANL enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns.
C-CDE is an applied technology organization focused on resolving national security-related issues in stockpile manufacturing and support, surveillance, applied and basic energy sciences, threat reduction, public health, and the environment. The group's core approach involves the integrated development and application of technologies utilizing underlying scientific expertise in Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Polymers, Bioscience, Chemical Process Development, and Chemical Engineering. The highly interdisciplinary nature of these activities requires scientists and engineers who can seamlessly operate within, and transition between, traditional academic disciplines. The Group’s research includes both fundamental and applied science. The successful candidate will work as part of this dynamic group developing cutting-edge approaches to tackle pressing national and global challenges, and collaborating closely with researchers from the fields of biology and earth and environmental sciences.
Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
