The successful candidate will work with a team of plasma physicists to apply high performance, large-scale, explicit and implicit VPIC simulations and analytic theory to understand the complex, nonlinear dynamics of cross beam energy transfer (CBET) and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in ICF and HED experiments and to aid in the development of predictive nonlinear CBET and SRS models in rad-hydro codes, such as xRAGE.
