What You Will Do

Single cell technology (SCT) towards pathway engineering has emerged as a powerful technology for creating efficient microbial strains for production of specialty chemicals and industrial intermediates. The Bioscience Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a highly talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher who is capable of utilizing state-of-the-art methods in protein design and genome editing to strengthen the ongoing efforts in SCT. The effort is a part of a multi-lab Advanced Biomanufacturing initiative. The successful candidate will do this work in collaboration with a team of Ph.D. staff scientists with expertise in the areas of protein biochemistry, structural biology, computational protein design and microbial engineering (Reference: doi:10.1093/nar/gkw687).

Education:

A Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related fields  is required.  The candidate must have completed all Ph.D. requirements by commencement of the appointment and be within 5 years of completion of the Ph.D.

Postdoctoral positions are for two years, with a third year possible, contingent on exemplary performance.
