The Computational Physics and Methods group (CCS-2) conducts research in physical model development, numerical methods and algorithms, and software engineering for current and future advanced computational architectures. Staff in CCS-2 are a unique blend of mathematicians, engineers, physicists, and computer scientists all working in concert on the creation, implementation, testing, and application of multi-scale, continuum models and methods as embodied in large-scale parallel software tools for simulation of dynamical phenomena in nature, industrial processes, and defense applications.
CCS-2 is seeking recent graduates looking for a challenging paid post graduate internship at the post-baccalaureate level. All selected candidates will be provided with a mentor, a challenging project for their appointment, and an opportunity to present their project work and progress to colleagues. The projects we have to offer will vary depending on the skills and interests of the candidate and our current needs.
What You Need
Recent graduates (BS/BA Degree) would qualify for a 1-2 years appointment through our Post-Baccalaureate program. All viable candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 for consideration, and have earned the degree no more than 3 years ago. A resume and current transcript, showing the above requirements, are required.
We are seeking a wide variety of skills employed in a scientific computing and computational physics environment, as well as a candidate who demonstrates strong leadership skills. To receive full consideration, candidates must have received a degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, or related field.
