This position will be filled at either the Scientist 2/3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
Members of the Computational Physics and Methods Group (CCS-2) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) develop techniques and scientific software that deliver high-fidelity numerical solutions at scale for important LANL mission areas. The applications include linear and nonlinear neutral particle transport (neutrons, gamma rays, thermal X‐rays), charged particle transport, high-energy density physics, plasma and fluid dynamics, astrophysics, metal casting, welding and additive manufacturing, and climate and ocean modeling. Approximately 45 staff scientists perform this work together with about 15 postdocs and 30 students and university affiliates in a vibrant, innovative, and highly collaborative work environment. CCS-2 actively collaborates with researchers across LANL and with faculty members from various universities.

Compensation and Benefits
Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM enjoys excellent weather, clean air and outstanding public schools. Additional Details:
No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
