Notes to Applicants:
The Security and Emergency Operations (SEO) Division at LANL is comprised of highly skilled and experienced emergency management, response, and deployed security professionals who help ensure LANL's compliance with emergency management and security directives from the Department of Energy, the National Nuclear Security Administration, and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as from state and local agencies.
The SEO Emergency Preparedness Group’s (SEO-EP) mission is to protect life, property, and resources by preparing for disasters and emergency incidents that cannot be prevented or mitigated in order to ensure an efficient and effective emergency response and recovery. The Emergency Preparedenss Group pursues it’s mission through an all-hazards approach and consists of the following programs: All-Hazards Emergency Planning Program, Emergency Training and Drill Program, Emergency Readiness Assurance Program (i.e., exercises and programmatic assessments), Wildland Fire Program, and Facility Preparedness Program. SEO-EP staff also serve as members of the Emergency Operations Center in the event of an incident requiring activation.
Additional Details:
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
