Toward that end, the Communications Specialist 2 will be responsible for producing a wide variety of visual materials, including video and video packages, photographs, GIFs, infographics (static and dynamic), animations and other visual products for the Laboratory’s top priority audiences. Specific projects will likely include: Shooting and editing short-format “news-type” videos and other types of videos in support of the Division’s strategic communications program for publication and dissemination, externally and internally Shooting and “Photoshopping” a wide range of photos, including but not limited to standard senior manager photo opportunities as well as visually compelling “Picture of the Week” photos that help illustrate and project the Laboratory’s mission and capabilities Supporting members of the strategic communications team by helping identify visual elements to enhance the telling of internal and external stories, and then find (or shoot) such images and tailor them as needed Supporting social media and web communications with effective on-line visual content by developing and tailoring photo, video and other visual material for use in a variety of digital channels Supporting strategic external and internal communications and media outreach (pitching) with photos and videos on tight deadlines with little or no notice as requested Synthesizing complex technical and sensitive issues and subjects into visual compelling and effective presentations Supporting other presentations, interactions, and initiatives as directed by the Group or Division Leader
The selected candidate will be a self-starter who can work well independently and as a teammate.
