· Interpret and clarify customer technical requirements
· Define and maintain technical compliance and traceability to customer requirements
· Review drawings having Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
· Develop test plans and reports, and support characterization testing
· Identify and coordinate purchases and installation activities for new advance test capability
· Lead development efforts to provide state-of-the-art technological advantages
· Work with the Development Team to meet internal cost and develop cost targets
· Write technical proposals and present technical information to customers
· Provide direct support to production and assist in process development and control, improvement efforts, failure analysis, and problem solving

Education: A minimum of a Bachelor of Science, in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, from an Accreditation Board or Engineering and Technology (ABET) college or university program MS or PhD preferred.

Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. LANL enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns.
The Weapons System Engineering Division (W Division/W Program) provides system engineering and program management to ensure the safety, reliability, and security of the United States nuclear stockpile. W Division has a broad and overarching responsibility for systems engineering and program management of Los Alamos National Laboratory’s nuclear stockpile assets in support of annual stockpile assessment, certification, and design and deployment of life extension projects.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
